Taos 03:54
TAOS Your perfume is turning to smoke If you stay with him, I’ll be gone tomorrow The more I pick up on your footprints The less I am inclined to follow them You should take my advice ‘Cause it’s more than breaking the ice And the rest is yours to decide Now go and create your own life It’s so painful to be this patient But there’s no way around This truth that I have found Your honor Am I guilty or am I innocent? I really need you now To help me see the difference You should take me advice It’s more than breaking the ice The rest is yours to decide Now go and create your own life

Anime Eyes 03:38
ANIME EYES Permit me to Forego excuses If I’m not good enough Have the courage To give me your eyes If I can’t see Can I get to where I’m going already? So that I know when if all comes around again To bite me I’ll know if…. Canada, eh? I’ve never been And I can’t go now Have the confidence To let yourself be graceful and aggressive At the same time Can I get to where I’m going already? So that I know when it all comes around again To bite me I’ll know if… You’re the one the people say Comes along and runs away Or if you’re the kind we all believe Gets inside and never leaves I was weak enough to let you in But I’m stronger now to let the wind Blow this over I’m calm enough to watch it pass But I’m sad to see it disappear forever Over my head Over my head

Moods 03:19
MOODS The silence is keeping me awake I can’t hear a thing The further I look into this relationship The less I can see And the more I’m afraid I’m gonna be steppin’ out of this hole Any minute now If I’m met with this denial and resistance Every time I reach out You might never understand it I don’t blame you at all Taken from a point of view and perspective So tense without a plan to resolve I read all of the writing (and I) Watched every video I tipped away all the messengers And told them not to come around here When you’re in one of those kinds of moods Dove into a super black hole Followed everything that I know But sometimes everything ain’t good enough You’re touchin’ the deepest part of my soul I wish I could go back in time and show you What kind of man you’ve become
4.
Medicine 03:36
MEDICINE I must’ve mentioned every danger But overlooked a minor detail Another moment in the ice-cold water And I’m afraid you’ll never breathe again In the time it takes to pull yourself together By then I’ll be gone By then I’ll be gone In the time it takes to pull yourself together By then I’ll be gone Thought I told you ‘bout the medicine But you go off and take it anyway Thought I told you ‘bout the medicine I gave a warning every red flag risin’ Blowin’ smoke into the lamp-lit hallway Took your hand and led you out the back door When I could’ve left you there alone Thought I told you ‘bout the medicine But you go off and take it anyway Thought I told you ‘bout the medicine

Torchlight 02:24
Torchlight There are times when I feel pretty guilty There are times when I feel insane There are times when I look in the mirror And don’t know the man looking back at me For a while there I put on the brakes Turned around to the face of an omen Spent a while in a labrynth and every dark cave But the torchlight guided the way From a bird’s eye view of the London Bridge The River Thames running under I’ve got a hole in my pocket A button’s undone on my favorite coat There are times when I’m out in the spotlight There are times when I’m down under cover From the men wearing suits and the women in dress Looking out for the sign of a lover Looking out for the sign of a lover

about

“Moods” is a heavy-hitting indie-rock EP with ballads that evolve into anthems. It was recorded during the winter of 2019 and is Taylor’s fourth solo studio EP.

“Moods” and “Medicine” were inspired by the difficulties inherent within addiction and depression and were written to shed light on these major issues that often go over-looked in society.

“Anime Eyes” was written in 2012 and finally found a home on the album. “Torchlight” and “Taos” were written around the same time and are simple expressions of honesty and the trade-offs of facing the truth.
